Corken’s passion for finding solutions to compression and pumping problems stems from its founders, Otto K. (O.K.) and Charlie Corken. In 1924, O.K. Corken and his son, Charlie, opened a distributorship for water and boiler feed pumps in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Later in the 1940s, they began manufacturing compressors and pumps for the LPG industry. Both men were known for their passion and commitment to developing solutions for complex compression and pumping problems inherent to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and other industrial gases and liquids. In the following years, Corken quickly gained market recognition for its quality line of industrial compressors and pumps for the propane, butane and anhydrous ammonia industries.

Corken is a diversified company that serves a worldwide customer base. Corken’s compressors, pumps and engineered packages are used by a wide range of companies throughout the world, including the Far East, Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, South America and North America. Corken serves each of its customers through an extensive network of distributors—each sharing the same commitment to customer service that Corken has demonstrated for more than 90 years.

Corken is recognized as a global leader in the manufacturer of oil-free reciprocating compressors, sliding vane pumps, turbine pumps and accessories for LPG (propane, butane), anhydrous ammonia and other volatile and toxic gases and liquids used in the process gas, energy, and transport industries. Our exceptional reputation was built upon decades of maintaining the highest quality products and customer service standards. This, combined with an absolute dedication to product performance, makes Corken a company recognized worldwide for its manufacturing expertise.

Product Expansion

    • Due to the vast experience with gas compression through the LPG industry, Corken’s industrial line of lubricated and oil-free reciprocating gas compressors has evolved into the most versatile line of small horsepower (7.5 to 75 hp) gas compressors in the world. In order to handle hazardous, volatile, toxic and corrosive gases, Corken offers many variations of its basic compressor models in a D- or T-Style oil-free design. D-Style oil-free compressors are used with flammable and corrosive gases as well as most general gas handling applications. T-Style oil-free compressors are used with toxic gases and in applications where maximum leakage control is desired.

  • Corken’s expertise with solving complex LPG pumping problems carried over to other industrial pump markets. As a result, Corken gave birth to an industrial pump line comprised of three technologies. The regenerative turbine, positive displacement sliding vane, and multi-stage side channel pumps are capable of handling a wide range of liquids, differential pressures and viscosities up to 20,000 SSU. Many are available with mechanically sealed and seal-less (magnetic drive) options. Over the years, the industrial pump line has expanded into many industries and applications.
